Pennsic related question

I'm going to my first Pannsic this year, and camping with Clan Bluefeather.
I know a few of you guys are in SCA, or have done Pennnsic before.
So folks, is the a newbie's guide of some sort out there?

Also, where can one bet patterns for medieval clothing, for stitch and bitches and stuff?
