Grades Wreck
Jan. 8th, 2008 09:28 pmI have been home sick since Friday , which gave me a plenty of time to
A. consume huge amounts of painkillers , OJ and tea and
B. think about the wreck that are my grades.
Once again , in a mirror of last fall I got B+'s in both International Law and Lacovara. I'm pissed but not surprised. IL is at 8 AM, and I genrally don't do well at 8 AM, and again the job interfered ( more on that in a later post). AS far as Lacovara goes, I just don't cut it in a Law School level course yet, and definitely not when carrying a load of 5 intensives.
B in Geography was due to sheer stupidity and a late semester decent into fanfic combined with the cousin showing up in the week before finals. I ended up showing up 2 hours late to a 2.5 hour long final and of course bombing it. That was the result of being stuck in the subway for 2 hours, but had I been more prepared I wouldn't have bombed so badly. In the end my lab grades carried me.
A+ in Russian as expected, considering that I was the only person who worked in the class and did the extra credit to boot.
This brings me to the Crim Law grade.
I had a 10 out of 10 in the first paper, 94 on the midterm, 93 on the final, and a 98 on the second paper. The grade was A-. So I e-mailed her to ask what gives and she said that my cumulative class grade was 90.2, which equalled an A -. Somehow the maths don't add up.
So when my head finally cleared I got into Blackboard to see the breakdown, and it turns out the first paper wasn't in the breakdown.
I e mailed her to ask why it wasn't counted , so lets see.
Meanwhile I'm pissed and waiting to see if I need to contact the chairman to roast her rump.
