Jun. 7th, 2005 08:50 pmSo the AP is talking about how some of the alleged Al-Qaueda and Taleban memebers imprisoned in Guitanamo were forced into it at the threat of Taleban leaders, or kidnapped form their homes.
I believe it, and am jus waiting for the reports of child soldiers to start tricking in.
It's the same bloody story as the LTTE in Sri Lanka.
Once a radical organization loses public support and relevance, and mind you the Taleban never had it to begin with, they start acting like any street gang, coersing and forcing people to join.
These children, and at 16 thats what one is, are victims in this situation. They were used, badly, by a foreign dictatorial regime. Keeping them in Guitanamo does nothin good for them, or for the US.
The sensible thing would be to get the lot of them into therapy and job training so they could actually be of some use, instead of being emotionally damages zombies capable of only wielding a gun.
However, the Bush adminitration is hardly sane, or sensitive.
