Jude, as some of you know, is a good friend of mine from High School days. Shes genuinely a good person, and I do care about her weelebing. That said, her mum is going though an atrocious divorce from her arsehole of a husband. I being the shmuck that I am, volunteered to be the person to who woudl serve her husband with all the court papers and shite. Good idea seeing tha otherwise she'd need to spend upwards from $40 every time, and he's left her with no funds at all ( this is what one gets for housewifery).
Now, the woman is insanely disorganised. She cannot comptele her notices on time. She waits for the last possible monet to serve the bastard when it can be avoided. She cannot get shit done unless I sit on it and demand that she get it done.
Today i ended up serving the bugger at 11:45PM. Why? Because even though she'd had the papers doen since Friday, she was writing the stuff that wasn't due to serve 'till a week from now to 'save me the trip'.
She called my house 15 times because i was late to meet her. She drove my roomie nuts. and i was stuck in the bloody subway for 3 hours. So here I am, at 2 AM, having just returned from serving Jude's father with yet another set of papers. I need to draw boundaries, but I dont know how. I need to set rules but i dare not because she's barely hanging on as is. I would liek the choice of walking away, but it's not there because If this fails, Jude may lose everything.
